One DMMMSU-OUS faculty has been accepted to the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) Inter-University Staff Exchange Fellowship (SEFP) at the Universitas Terbuka (UT) in Jakarta, Indonesia from October 20 to November 3, 2019.
Dr. Jayson Madayag, Chair of the DMMMSU-OUS Undergraduate Programs, is the first faculty of the University to qualify for the said SEFP. This Exchange Fellowship, according to the UT website, “is intended to provide a platform for capacity building… as well as fostering the exchange of knowledge and promotion of mutual understanding among the staff of the open universities in Asia”.
While in Jakarta, Dr. Madayag will conduct a comparative study of DMMMSU-OUS’ distance learning delivery and that of UT’s online distance learning mode. He will also be visiting the different regional offices of UT in Bogor and Bandung while gathering data for his research at UT’s institutes. Before his fellowship ends, he shall present his final paper before an academic forum to be organized by the UT Head Office in Jakarta.
Dr. Madayag’s fellowship grant includes full accomodation, meals, local transportation, and access to UT’s e-Library resources. He shall also be given an office space equipped with computer, printer, and internet access.
