Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) celebrates its 39th Foundation Anniversary.  Anchored in the theme “DMMMSU soars high”, the celebration runs from January 14 to 16.

During the first day, January 14, various activities were prepared for teachers and students. Awards and recognition programs were also conducted in the three major campuses.

Dir. Lucrecio R. Alviar, Jr., Director of the Department of Agriculture-RO1 graced the awards and recognition program held at the main campus for the North La Union Campus (NLUC), the Sericulture Research and Development Institute (SRDI), the National Apiculture Research Training and Development Institute (NARTDI), the Open University System (OUS), and the Central Administration (CA).

The Mid La Union Campus (MLUC) on the other hand, invited Hon. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega as their guest of honor and speaker. They also held Personnel Night.

The two guest speakers are among the major benefactors of DMMMSU.

President Jaime Ipac Manuel, Jr. joined the awards and recognition at the South La Union Campus (SLUC) where he extended his deep appreciation for the huge contributions of SLUC in realizing the goals of the University. After the awards and recognition program, SLUC celebrated “Panagyaman” (thanksgiving), also graced by retirees from the same campus.

On January 15, the University awards and recognition ceremonies will be held at MLUC at 1 o’clock in the afternoon after the “Panagkakammayet”/Cultural Show which will be held at 8 o’clock in the morning. As with the campus celebrations where the head of each of the operating units present their accomplishments, the University President will also deliver his University Address, featuring what the University has accomplished and has been doing based on the eleven (11) developmental goals he presented during his run for Presidency, last December 18, 2018. In addition, major and special awards will be accorded in recognition of the outstanding accomplishments of faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and academic units. Students and benefactors will also be given recognition.

On the third day, January 16, University Research and Extension Day will be conducted, still at MLUC. During the program, Standard Operations Instruction (SOI) for research and extension, and Techno Calendar 2020 will be launched.

Faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students are all enjoined to celebrate and participate in the various activities prepared.   (ayu)
