Six research, development, and extension papers are qualified for oral and poster presentations in the upcoming 32nd Regional Symposium on R&D Highlights to be held on December 21-23, 2020. This was the result of the Commodity Review held in October 2020 via Zoom.

The following are the titles of the researches and extension projects for oral presentation:

  • Floral Visitors and Characteristics of Yellow Alder (Turnera ulmifolia L.) and White Alder (Turnera subulata J.);
  • Compendium of Bee Plants in the Provinces of La Union and Benguet;
  • Development of a Low-Cost Honey Filtering Machine;
  • Development of Bee Products and its By-Products; and
  • Strengthening of Beekeeping through Capability Enhancement and Upgrading of Queen Bee Stocks (DA-BAI funded).

The extension project titled, “Bee Health Development” was also recommended for presentation under the poster category.

The symposium is an avenue where generated technologies and information from research and extension works are presented and reviewed, to facilitate dissemination of breakthroughs to the end users. This is also where best finds receive recognition and nomination to national award-giving bodies. (RMPajarillo)
