The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) grants Php 9.96 million to the DMMMSU Open University System (DOUS) for the establishment of its Distance Learning and Edumedia Hub.
Approved by CHED Chairman J. Prospero de Vera III, the grant will enable DOUS to expand its operations as the distance education arm of DMMMSU and establish itself as the leader of open distance learning (ODL) in the region.
The grant shall enable the following operational aspects of the DOUS Distance Learning and Edumedia Hub:
- Procurement / Contracting for Learning Management System
- Procurement of equipment for digital classrooms
- Development and production of technology-based course materials or e-courseware; and
- Training of faculty members on the development of Multi-media, e-course materials and use of the LMS platform;
The DOUS Distance Learning and Edumedia Hub will serve as vehicle to provide universal access to higher education for regular students and lifelong learners. It will, in effect, be the platform for the opening of new programs and courses that will address the needs of learners in the region.
