Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, DMMMSU continues to take great strides to better improve its services as an academic institution for higher learning. As the University moves toward an institutional evaluation this year, the SLUC administration through the office of the Internal Quality Assurance System spearheaded by Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan, held an orientation and task force meeting at the SLUC Administration Building Conference Hall on February 15, 2021.

The meeting highlighted the essential role of the different offices and the documents that are necessary for the evaluation. Dr. Songcuan emphasized that there are nine areas to be evaluated particularly: Area 1) governance and management, Area 2) teaching, learning and evaluation, Area 3) faculty and staff, Area 4) research, Area 5) extension, consultancy and linkages, Area 6) support to students, Area 7) library, Area 8) infrastructure and other learning resources, and Area 9) quality assurance culture. Each of these areas will be supervised by the following area leaders: Ms. Marissa P. Abacco, Head of Admin Services; Dr. Fauslyn Gay U. Amongan, Head of Instruction; Prof. Prescilita M. Villanueva, Head of HRMO; Prof. Vicky N. Malaya, Head of Research; Prof. Stella N. Domondon, Head of Extension; Prof. Jo Ann P. Rulla, Head of SAS; Dr. Nancy F. Galban, Head of Library Services; Prof. Dionisio M. Uychoco, Head of Institutional Planning & Development, and Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan, Head of Internal Quality Assurance System.

“Once again the University calls for our commitment and cooperation in the fulfilment of this endeavour,” OIC Chancellor Nona M. Rivera underscored as she welcomed the Deans, Program Chairs and Heads of the different academic units and offices at the start of the meeting. (ZM)
