DMMMSU-MLUC University Library, headed by Ms. Ruby Lyn C. Narra was virtually awarded as champion in the Testimonial Video Contest during the 2021 DOST-STARBOOKS stakeholders regional convention in celebration of the National Science and Technology Week held via zoom and Facebook live on November 10, 2021.

The contest was open to all STARBOOKS stakeholders in Region 1. The winning entry of the campus library presented the impact of STARBOOKS in promoting insightful learning, and how MLUC Library best implemented and utilized STARBOOKS.

STARBOOKS or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosk Stations (STARBOOKS) is a stand-alone information source designed to reach those with limited or no access to S&T information resources. The project aims to provide STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation)-based content in various formats to students and other constituents in geographically-isolated and economically-challenged schools and communities throughout the country. STARBOOKS contains hundreds of thousands of digitized science and technology resources in various formats (text and video/audio) placed in specially design “pods” set in a user-friendly interface.

Meanwhile, Mr. Judibert E. Catbagan, Library Staff of DMMMSU-MLUC Main Library, participated in the Photo Entry Contest of the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) National Science and Technology Week and was among the five (5) finalists. He received a consolation prize amounting to 500 pesos.
