Rising up to the challenge to remain connected and relevant for internationalization and mobility, DMMMSU and the Thai Tech Group—Thaksina Business Technological College and Thai Ayothaya Business Administration Technological College in Bangkok, Thailand—are engaging in virtual collaborative programs and activities, specifically the online exchange and consultancy programs.

DMMMSU assigned faculty members to take over subjects offered by the TSN and TAB. While TSN and TAB students are enrolled in their home colleges, eight consultants/faculty members from DMMMSU will teach the following subjects via online modality synchronously and asynchronously: English for Listening and Speaking, English for Workplace, English for Tour Guide, Tourism Behavior, Personality Development in Tourism, Marketing for Tourism and English for Hospitality.

Faculty members from the College of Management (MLUC), College of Arts and Sciences and College of Education (SLUC and MLUC) were tapped to handle the said courses. They are the following: Dr. Tifanny Ruth R. Quinitip, Prof. Daniel B. Gacayan, Prof. Geremy S. Cacanindin, Prof. Joji Ann F. Regacho, Dr. Melda M. Uychoco, Dr. Rina Rose B. Budeng, Prof. Hannah Nora B. Solimen, and Prof. Dhierna Lhen B. Barbin.

“This partnership with the Thai Tech Group is yet again an example of how DMMMSU is enhancing its international reputation and visibility through the strong thrust of a global/internationalization strategy of the Office of Internationalization, Linkages and ETEEAP”, Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. said in his Message of Support during the Opening Program last November 22, 2022.

Dr. Puttachard Suphalucksana, Director of the Center for International Education Promotion—in behalf of Dr. Sumana, Chairman of Thai-Tech Group—expressed her gratitude and hope that Thai Tech Group “will see more exchanges with DMMMSU—in the areas of faculty/staff and student exchange programs, cultural and technology sharing and publishing among many others that are potential activities we can do in the future”.

Also present during the Opening Program are the TSN Director Mrs. Nongluck Trakulwong; TAB Director Ms. Worawia Lamoonpun; DMMMSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Elsie M. Pacho and DMMMSU OILE Director Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata—along with the other faculty members and staff of the two institutions.

DMMMSU and Thai Tech Group, as partner universities based on a Framework of Cooperation signed on July 25, 2019, have mutually agreed to carry out cooperative activities on the basis of mutual benefit—specifically on the areas of hospitality and business administration, information technology, and other areas/disciplines offered by the two institutions.

The FOC remains in effect for an initial period of three years after the date of signature—that is, until July 2022.
