Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), in coordination with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), held a three-day training on Knowledge Management (KM) at the International Convention Center, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union on July 5 to 7, 2022. Participants were composed of University Management Committee, and selected Deans/Institute Directors, Function Directors and Coordinators, Campus Officials, and teaching and nonteaching personnel.
The training was “designed to enable University officials and personnel to understand and apply fundamental concepts, practices, and tools in creating, sharing and applying knowledge to enhance organizational productivity and growth. The course also highlighted how knowledge management is connected with the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) framework and the ISO 30120:2018.”
Basic KM concepts and the Asian Productivity Organization Framework (APO) KM Framework were discussed on the first day while KM tools and techniques and development of a pilot KM Action Plan were discussed on the second day. In the morning of the third day, topics during the second day were continued, and lessons learned were wrapped up in the afternoon.
The training team from DAP consists of Ms. Elena A. Cruz, Management Consultant of the DAP, along with Mr. Ryan Vincent Lim and Ms. Jelriz Lanip, members of the DAP Secretariat.
Dr. Estrella N. Perez, VP for Administration, designated the team members who were tasked to convene the participants and to facilitate activities for the training. Members of the KM Training Course team include Dr. Sonia Siago, Dr. Genevieve Cadaoas, and Mr. Jouie Donato; and facilitators Ms. Isella Drezden Tagura, Ms. Maria Cecilia Fontanilla, Prof. Nel Bryan Tugelida, Ms. Audrey B.
