The Quality Assurance Unit conducted the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) audit in the whole University. The audit which ran from September 16 to 30, 2022 covered instruction, research, extension, and support service.

The audit is hinged on the following objectives:

  1. To determine the extent of implementation of the University Quality Management System compliant with the ISO 9001:2015, and other statutory and regulatory requirements;
  2. To determine the level of compliance to the observations/OFIs by the Certifying Body during the Stage 2 Audit; and
  3. To ensure QMS continuous improvement.

The team of 68 auditors was led by Dr. Estrella N. Perez, Vice President for Administration and Quality Management Representative; and Dr. Angelita J. Prado, Director for Quality Assurance. Meanwhile, Dr. Emmanuel J. Songcuan, Prof. Anny Ross A. Bayan, Prof. Kenneth G. Bayani, Ms. Evangel M. Barrameda, Prof. Luzviminda F. Salamanca, Mr. Rowel M. Munar, and Prof. Genevieve C. Cadaoas served as team leaders. They were tapped to ensure the accuracy of the audit reports of the auditors and the speedy submission of these reports. Also, Atty. Kate Licay, University Auditor; and  Mr. Nel Bryan Tugelida, and Isella Drezden Tagura helped facilitate the planning and implementation of the said audit.

During her speeches in the North La Union Campus along with other Units in Bacnotan, La Union, the Mid-La Union Campus and the Open University System as well as in the South La Union Campus, Dr. Perez never missed to emphasize the relevance of the conduct of the audit as well as thank both the auditors and the auditees for carrying out a herculean obligation to maintain a quality management system.
