Performance review and presentation of 2023 targets were conducted at the International Convention Center on March 6 to 8, 2023. Each of the Directors and Heads of Operating Units presented their accomplishments and plans for 2023.

NARTDI Director Dr. Gregory B. Viste eyes to increase research productivity. NSTP Director Prof. Loida Faller focuses on sustainability trainings. Prof. Laiza Niduaza,  Director of Instruction targets to increase the passing rate of licensure examination takers.

The Director of SAS, Dr. Navalta was tasked to determine whether DMMMSU students are responding well to the Free Higher Education Scholarship and to coordinate with LGUs regarding more comprehensive plans on boarding houses to ensure the safety of the University constituents. Dr. Palabay, Director for Alumni Affairs, aims to create a database for alumni tracing. Dr. Sonia Siago, Director for Library Services, presented their output on subscription to e-resources, upgrading library services and the plan to merge the creation of Ilokano Studies Center and the Lam-Ang Center. Meanwhile, Prof. Irene Gomez, the Director for Cultural Affairs plans to re-gorganize campus cultural units, and implement an artistic enhancement and refinement program and a cultural development program. Dr. Paulo Jan Samson, Director for Sports Development pointed out that all tune-up requests are well-documented and are approved officially by the University and that they are eyeing for a possibility of another SCUAA 1 Championship. Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata from the Office of Internationalization and Linkages shared his goal for DMMMSU to be included in Times Higher Education World University Rankings. He shared that the University needs to achieve a minimum of 1,000 relevant publications. Dr. Valoree Salamanca from the Office of Admission and Records presented the outputs on student services development, graduation services, and the adoption of a uni-wide automated enrolment system and the creation of the admission manual.

On the second day of the conference, Dr. Florendo Damasco, Director for Auxiliary shared his plans to improve the water system in the University, the conduct of regular maintenance schedule of buildings and motor vehicles, the establishment of modernized MRF and stringent plan on energy consumption. Prof. Keneth Bayani, Director for Research presented the University Research Accomplishment including publication on peer-reviewed journals, indexed journals, creative works and innovation, IP registration, research ethics and research-based policies.

Dr. Junifer Rey E. Tabafunda, Chancellor of NLUC presented the Campus’ significant accomplishments on instruction, research, extension, management and governance, business affairs, management information system, human resource, records, finance and heath services. He also highlighted the improved faculty profile and academic ranks of NLUC constituents. For the Office of Resource Development and GAD, their accomplishments covered SOPs, resource and development activities, linkages established and trainings related to GAD. Dr. Stephen Kupsh, Director for Management Information System was tasked to strategize the improvement of DMMMSU website and database, uni-wide implementation of automated processes from enrolment to graduation, and the plan to re-structure MIS for faster online documentation of significant university events. Dr. Geoffrey Badua who presented the accomplishments of UBAO presented the income-generating projects, the UBA Manual and Review, project monitoring and other UBAO benchmarking activities. Ms. Placida De Guzman presented the Finance Office’s plan to have efficient utilization of funds, timely submission of financial reports and computerization of the Finance Office.

In addition, Atty. Kristine Gay Balanag from the Administrative Services Office presented various accomplishments on records management system, professional development, supply and property management, insurance, custodianship, LATTO, and procurement among others. The Office of Internal Quality Assurance System headed by Atty. Kate P. Licay plans to conduct internal quality audits, manage the completeness of IQA documents, actions pertaining to NCs or OFIs, audit report documentation, QMS re-certification, SUC levelling, PBB, AACCUP, and Philippine Quality Award updates. Dr. Ma. Consuelo Alcantara, Director for Medical Services, focuses on health apprasial, wellness, promotion of healthy campus, vector control, food safety, health cards from food handlers, and health education, staff development, and health related community services. Dr. Emerita Galiste from the Extension Office targets to strengthen monitoring of University technology adaptor’s income as well as community involvement, extension service quality, public service partnerships, social responsibility, and source of livelihood.

On the third day, Dr. Cristeta Gapuz Executive Director of SRDI was asked how their institute can increase the number of completed researches. She shared her plans to target vertical alignment of highly specialized personnel. Dr. Cristita G. Guerra, Executive Director of DMMMSU OUS seeks to increase the number of PhDs enrollees, and targets compliance on PBB and SUC levelling as well as sustainability of flexible learning. Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, Chancellor of MLUC, shared MLUC accomplishments on faculty development, program assessment, licensure examination, research, management and governance, linkages and collaboration, extension works, SAS and infrastructure projects. They plan to subject BS Business Administration and the BEED program for COD. They also plan to craft effective intervention to motivate faculty members to do research. Dr. Joanne C. Rivera methodically presented the accomplishments of the different offices and service providers at the South La Union Campus. They addressed LATTO informal settlers at SLUC, LUDIP, and added an emergency response team training from their auxiliary office.
