To equip its faculty members in teaching General Education courses, DMMMSU spearheaded a training titled Foundations for Lifelong Learning: Rebooting Teachers’ Skills in Teaching General Education at the South La Union Campus on August 14-17, 2023.





The training was designed to help general education teachers to support the foundation that assists students in their learning and personal development. It focused on rebooting the participants’ essential skills, knowledge, and competencies that are necessary for teaching General Education subjects in the digital age.
The 4-day program delved on teaching core subjects namely Understanding the Self, Readings in Philippine History, The Contemporary World, Mathematics in the Modern World, Purposive Communication, Art Appreciation; Science, Technology and Society; Ethics; Life and Works of Rizal; and elective courses namely Gender and Society; Entrepreneurial Mind; and Great Books.
The participants were trained by competent speakers from other institutions like the University of the Philippines Baguio, University of Asia and the Pacific, University of Cordilleras, and Saint Louis University. (By Jerald Saculles)
