The Library Services and Development (LSD) unit of DMMMSU partnered with the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. – Ilocos Region Librarians Council (PLAI-IRLC) in conducting a tree-planting activity at DMMMSU-NLUC, Sapilang, Bacnotan on August 28, 2023, La Union to celebrate PLAI 100: A Hundred Years of Philippine Librarianship.

With the theme “Read a book and be informed, plant a tree and save the earth”, a total of 43 librarians and library staff from all over the region participated in the said activity. The participants planted 100 seedlings of Balitbitan to signify the constant improvement and commitment of librarians to serve its clients with quality services and information resources for the past 100 years and for the years to come.

After the tree-planting activity, the participants proceeded to the NLUC Main Library for a meeting and product demonstration sponsored by SERV Enterprises. (By Sheena Pardilla)
