NLUC Guidance and Counseling and Gender and Development units conducted a Mental Health Awareness Seminar at the AVR-BPAA Complex on November 14, 2023, Participants include class advisers, class captains, SAS facilitators, GAD facilitators, CSC officers, campus physicians, dorm managers, and security personnel.



Mental health experts were invited to discuss topics related to suicide prevention. The training covered five essential themes and aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to address mental health challenges in various settings.
Ms. Morvi Cabaccan discussed the Status of Mental Health; Ms. Filomena Obana, President of PGCA-La Union Chapter, spoke about Suicide and the School; Ms. Cecilia Sanchez presented How to Race Against Suicide; Dr. Eunice Palomo also dealt with Tele-mental Health on Managing Suicide; and Prof. Claudia Denise Barbadillo discussed Suicide Intervention and Referral.
After the discussions, an open forum was held, and Dr. Maria Consuelo Alcantara concluded the program with her closing remarks. (By RMVerganio)
