Dr. Tiffany Ruth R. Quinitip, Dean of the College of Management (COM), was invited as one of the panel discussants at the 2024 International Conference on Trans Asian Integration of Industry, Business and Commerce held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on January 5 to 7, 2024.

Dr. Quinitip sat with other panelists from the International Water Management Institute of Colombo, Sri Lanka; Renessaince University of Education, Uzbekistan; Asian Institute of Cambodia; Moscow City University, Russia; EIILM-Kolkata, India; SEGi University and Colleges, Malaysia; Universitas PGRI Semarang, Indonesia in the session on “The Issues of Human Settlement, Education, Health and Services in the context of Asian Integration”.

Hosted by the Eastern Institute of Integrated Learning and Management (EIILM) – Kolkata in India, this assembly on Asian integration has become a series of conferences and workshops involving leading scholars, practitioners, academic researchers, and performing business personalities in the Asian region from Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, and India when the EIILM- Kolkata Chairman Prof. (Dr.) R. P. Banerjee initiated it in 2016. Several conferences followed in Thailand, Singapore, India, and Malaysia.

Prof. (Dr.) R.P. Banerjee congratulated DMMMSU for showcasing the initiatives of the Philippine government in responding to the issues of urbanization and informal settlements, disaster resilience, quality and access to education, skills mismatch, universal healthcare, emerging infectious diseases, digital divide, and social protection.

Dean Quinitip was also able to emphasize the University’s role as a transformative higher education institution that incorporates regional cooperation, investing in human capital and infrastructure, and promoting innovation and good governance in its strategic plans and operations, which garnered the approval of the EIILM Chairman to engage in more collaborative activities with DMMMSU in the future.

Ms. Mae Angeluz H. Madrid, MLUC Head for Finance Services, accompanied Dr. Quinitip during the three-day event. This is the first international collaboration of DMMMSU with EIILM-Kolkata since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on June 8, 2023. (By Jesus Rafael B. Jarata)
