DMMMSU was declared first runner-up after acquiring 150 points during the Region-1 culture and the arts competitions. DMMMSU logged only four points behind the Champion, Mariano Marcos State University.
DMMMSU placed first in the following: classical guitar, banduria, pop solo, charcoal rendering, photo contest, street dance (hip hop), and Ms. PASUC. It placed second in the following: vocal solo kundiman, standard chorale, short and sweet play (dialogue), short and sweet play (musical), and contemporary dance. And it placed third in the following: live band, show choir, on the spot poster making, radio drama, folk dance, and Mr. PASUC. Each placement earned DMMMSU 10 (for first), 7 (for second), and 5 (for third).
Dr. Rodelio V. Indong said in an interview, “It’s been a while since we last bagged 1st runner-up in the said regional competitions, and I am happy that this year, we did.”
DMMMSU winners will join the other champions from other State Universities and Colleges in representing Region-1 in the National Competitions at Philippine Normal University in April this year.
