The Dr. Carl Balita Review Center (CBRC), led by its La Union Branch manager, Ms. Roanne de la Cruz, conducted the National Aptitude and Normative Test for Educators (NANTE) for 398 graduating CE students at South La Union Campus on April 12, 2024.

The NANTE is a comprehensive assessment tool that evaluates graduating students’ knowledge in General Education and Professional Education. Structured around two 100-item tests, the assessment mirrors actual board exam questions and is aligned with the Professional Regulatory Commission’s Table of Specifications (PRC TOS).

Beyond measuring and evaluating the educational outcomes and current performance of the teacher education program, NANTE also serves as the screening process for the Merit Scholarship entrusted to CBRC by Senator Bong Go through the CHED Tulong Dunong Program. The said scholarship offers a financial grant of PHP 7,500 to be given within the semester to qualified graduating students, subject to the university recommendation and other program requirements.

Through the strategic academic partnership between the CBRC and the College of Education, the NANTE not only prepares students for professional licensure examinations but also promotes a culture of academic excellence and accountability within the institution.

The nationwide examination was facilitated by Dr. Alfred B. Fuentes, Jr., the college Performance Enhancement Course Audit (PECA) facilitator, Prof. Juliet B. Nimuan, Teaching Internship Coordinator, and this semester’s PECA instructors. (By John Mark G. Lachica)
