DMMMSU-MLUC strengthens community ties, explores collaborative programs with new BJMPPO-La Union leadership

DMMMSU-MLUC has been leading in community participation and skills development through its active extension initiatives. These programs aim to expand the university’s resources and expertise beyond its campuses, directly benefiting the local community and numerous stakeholders, including the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Provincial Office of La Union (BJMPPO-La Union).

With the recent appointment of JSINSP Cherry Jane A. Reparip as the new Provincial Jail Administrator at BJMPPO-La Union, starting from February 16, 2024, there will be more opportunities to expand this collaboration further.

The administrator’s meeting with Dr. Eduardo C. Corpuz, MLUC Chancellor, to discuss prospective activities, projects, and programs that could benefit both the personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL) at BJMPPO-La Union presents fresh opportunities for collaboration.

Dr. Benigno G. Ganalon, the Head for Extension, and Dr. Marlyn M. Amante, the Head for GAD, also participated in the activity. This initiative is in line with the continuous efforts of DMMMSU-MLUC to actively include the community and utilize its resources to help improve society.

DMMMSU-MLUC and BJMPPO-La Union look forward to creating customized programs targeting the unique requirements of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and aiding them in rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society. Simultaneously, this partnership will also enhance the competencies and abilities of the BJMPPO personnel. (By Arrianne Michelle F. Fabro)
