Stingers clinched not only medals but also substantial cash incentives as prizes for their grit during the SCUAA-1 2024 Sports Olympics.

To augment the prizes given by the supportive La Union Congressmen, the Stingers will receive additional cash awards from the University. The incentives are based on the 2020 board-approved rationalized incentive scheme. The scheme delineates rewards based on individual and group performance levels in various competitions.

Based on the scheme, should the Stingers emerge as the overall champions, individual athletes will each receive P5000, PhP 2000, and P1000 for clinching gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. Meanwhile, team players will each receive P1,200, P1000, and P800 for similar podium finishes.

Should they secure the spot as the 1st overall champion, individual athletes will receive P4000 for gold, P2000 for silver, and P1000 for bronze. Team efforts are rewarded with P1000, P800, andP600 for the respective medal standings.

If they place 2nd over-all champion, individual athletes will each receive P3000, P2000, and P1000 for gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. Athletes who play in groups will each receive P800, P600, and P400.

Transitioning to the national level, regardless of overall standing, the individual athlete is given P20 000, P6 000, and P5 000 for clinching gold, silver, and bronze, respectively. Each athlete is entitled to P5 000, P3 000, and P2 000 for team events.

The incentive scheme extends further to international competitions. At the ASEAN Level, gold medalists will receive P50 000, followed by P30 000 for silver and P20 000 for bronze. The stakes rise significantly at the ASIAD Level, with gold medalists earning P100 000, P75 000 for silver, and P50 000 for bronze.

Lastly, Olympian achievements are honored with P200 000 for gold, P100 000 for silver, and P75 000 for bronze.

DMMMSU’s incentivizing sports achievements by the Stingers is driven by its aspiration to attract, retain, and inspire top-tier athletes.
