DMMMSU faculty members Dr. Nel Bryan Tugelida of the North La Union Campus and Dr. Estella Cayabyab of the Mid La Union Campus were recognized as the Best Presenters in the 3rd National Research Congress held via Zoom last May 5, 2024.

The research congress focused on the theme Thriving in a Dynamic World: Cultivating 21st Century Skills Through Action Research.

Dr. Tugelida and Dr. Cayabyab earned the recognition as Best Presenters. Dr. Tugelida’s research study titled Money Management Practices of Kankanaey Household Managers revealed that Kankanaey household managers have a set of Money Management practices grounded mainly on their cultural beliefs and time-honored values.

On the other hand, Dr. Cayabyab’s research titled Reading  Remediation Program for Struggling Readers:  An Impact Study showed that the respondents’ performance ratings indicate that there is an improvement in performance after giving struggling readers reading remediation.

The 3rd National Research Congress aimed to explore and identify practical, innovative strategies addressing change agents through education 4.0. It brought together scholars, researchers, policymakers, and future educators in and out of the country. (By RMV)
