Urdaneta City University (UCU) in Pangasinan visited DMMMSU to learn from the latter’s successful internationalization efforts. UCU officials gained insights on DMMMSU’s international mobility programs and its effective strategies for achieving recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings during the benchmarking activity at the DMMMSU Central Administration on September 20, 2024.
University President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr. welcomed the UCU delegates. In his remarks, Dr. Manuel emphasized the importance of learning from other institutions’ successes in internationalization, particularly in areas that align with institutions’ vision for global competitiveness.
Dr. Elsie M. Pacho, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs at Urdaneta City University, highlighted the significance of international collaboration in higher education.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata, Director for International Affairs, provided UCU team the opportunity to study DMMMSU’s best practices, particularly in fostering international collaborations, facilitating student and faculty exchanges, and aligning its programs with global standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). DMMMSU’s efforts have strengthened its global presence and led to improved performance in the THE Impact Rankings.
Delegation from UCU was composed of Prof. Richard U. Arillaga, Head of MIS; Dr. Easter Belandres, Director CTPD; Mr. Jeffrey Caoile, Executive Assistant CSLD; Mr. Danilo Dorado, Executive Assistant CQM; Ms. Lorie M. Paragas, Instructor CITE; Mr. Patrick Mole, Instructor CITE; Engr. Dennis Pascua, Head of EMAS; Mr. Johannes Rabago, Dean College of CITE; and Dr. Sonny Soriano, Director, External Affairs and Linkages Office.
