DMMMSU held “Cultural Kaleidoscope: Celebrating Harmony in Diversity, Expanding Perspectives” at the International Convention Center, DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union on November 5, 2024.
This celebration is held to formally recognize the inbound students and faculty members from the different internationalization (IZN) programs subscribed to and projects spearheaded by the University.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Vicky A. Agpasa, Vice President for Academic & International Affairs, emphasized the importance of the appreciation formed in a diverse academic community brought together by international partnerships.

Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., University President, inspired the participants by sharing his vision of DMMMSU in pursuit of academic and research excellence, citing its role in nation-building and disposition of DMMMSU in today’s global landscape.

Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director IV of CHEDRO1, represented by Dr. Danilo B. Bose, Chief Education Program Specialist of CHEDRO1, encapsulated her message of support to DMMMSU with SPARK (Synergy, Perspective, Awareness, Respect, and Knowledge), highlighting the critical role of cultural exchange in building international relations.
“As we champion diversity and expand our perspectives of internationalization, we ignite the vibrant spark of innovation and collaboration that can transform our communities and institutions,” Dr. Bose added.

Dr. Jesús Rafael J. Jakarta, Director of International Affairs, presented Batch 10 of the SEA Teacher Project, Erasmus+ Programme representatives, UKI students and faculty exchange participants, and officials from the Canada Catalyze Project.

Faculty members from the University of Eastern Finland are Juha Pajari and Ari Haaranen, and those from Catalyste+ Canada are Vner Valerio, Catalyste+ Project Officer and Ron Jamieson, Canadian Catalyste+ Advisor
Dr. Angelina T. Gonzales, Vice President for Research, Development & Innovation, delivered a Message of Solidarity & Affirmation, which resonated deeply with the audience, promoting the idea of collective progress through unity.
Participants also witnessed cultural presentations prepared by student organizations under Cultural Affairs and Drum and Lyre Corps of the NLUC-CE-Laboratory Elementary School.
Together with the internationalization program participants, the celebration was attended by University officials, Chancellors of the three campuses, and Executive Directors.
