Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) participated in the inaugural ceremony of the Region 1 Advocates for Gender Equality (RAGE-1) in observance of National Women’s Month at San Fernando, La Union, on March 5, 2025.
The event convened a diverse group of stakeholders dedicated to the promotion of gender equality in the region. The day’s activities began with a Gender and Development (GAD) Walk from Pennsylvania Avenue to the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) in Barangay Parian, followed by a Zumba session and a Thanksgiving Mass at PRO1.
A formal program was also held with Ms. Mikaela Karita M. Ortega, a distinguished GAD Advocate, as the Guest of Honor. Ms. Ortega also presided over the oath-taking of the newly elected RAGE -1 officers and awarded certificates to both incoming and outgoing officers.
The event concluded with a closing ceremony and photo opportunities, underscoring the shared commitment of RAGE-1, DMMMSU, and other partners to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment across the region.
