On April 11, 2025, through the initiative of Ms. Perla A. Sotelo, the University Focal Person for Senior Citizens and Disability Affairs, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University received generous assistance from the Rotary Club of SFLU and the Palacay Siblings from San Gabriel, La Union.
Marine Engr. Conrado Palacay Jr., Precious Pauline Palacay, and Angela Pearl Palacay provide two walkers, six canes, and one pair of wooden crutches. On the other hand, the Rotary Club of San Fernando, LU handed over one(1) wheelchair to the University. This act of kindness aims to enhance accessibility and improve the quality of life for students and personnel with mobility challenges.
The turnover was attended by Adrian Gabriel “Gabby” Go (President, Rotary Club of SFLU), Jun Mangaoang (Past President), Mr. Don Ting (Asst. Governor), Dir. Kyle Miguel Anthony Aungon, Ms. Vida Joyce Mangaoang (MLUC NTA President), Dr. Benigno G. Gañalon (Head, Extension), Ms. Geny Ablan, and Ms Donna Marie Nisperos (Supply Personnel).
These mobility aids will be available to students and staff who need them, ensuring they can easily access classrooms, offices, and other campus facilities. This endeavor underscores the importance of community collaboration in fostering inclusivity and creating a supportive environment for all.
