Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) welcomed a delegation of researchers from Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) on April 23, 2025, as part of a national study on institutional branding and strategic development in higher education.

The visiting team, composed of Prof. Jason V. Chavez and Atty. Marti W. Gregorio, is currently conducting research titled “Analyzing University Quality and Brand Equity: Strategic Initiatives and Institutional Branding.” The study aims to examine how Philippine universities craft and implement branding strategies to enhance their institutional identity and competitiveness in the academic landscape.

During their visit, the ZPPSU researchers conducted in-depth interviews with key DMMMSU officials to gain insights into the university’s strategic initiatives. Discussions focused on a broad range of topics, including academic program offerings, infrastructure development, faculty and research excellence, and ongoing branding and marketing efforts. The team also explored DMMMSU’s approaches to academic reputation management, industry partnerships, innovation, and community engagement.

The data gathered from DMMMSU will form part of a nationwide analysis highlighting best practices in university branding. The study is expected to provide significant recommendations for strengthening the identity, visibility, and competitive advantage of Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). (By Aniway P.
