The Library Consortium in Region 1 (LibCoRe 1) held a membership meeting at the North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC) Main Library, Sapilang, Bacnotan, La Union on April 28, 2025. The event gathered academic, school, public, and special libraries from across Region 1 to discuss collaborative opportunities, resource sharing, and professional development.
Attendees received an in-depth overview of the consortium’s objectives, including how member libraries can access shared resources and take part in interlibrary loan programs.
The meeting highlighted the consortium’s ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening libraries in Region 1. Among the key discussions were the upcoming professional development activities such as workshops, training seminars, and collaborative research projects. These initiatives are designed to enhance the skills of library staff and provide libraries with the tools they need to improve services and resources for their users. Additionally, the consortium’s digital resources, available to all members, were introduced as an invaluable asset for expanding access to information.
LibCoRe 1 also welcomed new member libraries during the event, further expanding its network across the region. The meeting served as an excellent opportunity for networking, allowing library professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss best practices for addressing the evolving needs of their institutions. As the consortium continues to grow, it remains dedicated to promoting greater cooperation among libraries in Region 1, ensuring that they can provide high-quality services and resources to the community.
