Bacnotan, La Union — May 16, 2025 — In observance of Education Support Personnel Day as proclaimed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Non-Teaching Association (NTA) Bacnotan Chapter of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), together with the university’s Job Order Personnel, conducted the commemorative event today at the Ortega Memorial Center in Sapilang, Bacnotan.

The celebration aimed to strengthen camaraderie among education support staff while providing a platform for meaningful dialogue on key organizational matters.

During the event, Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., DMMMSU President, delivered a commendatory address, articulating his profound appreciation to the essential role that non-teaching personnel play in the advancement of the university. He acknowledged their considerable contributions toward achieving DMMMSU’s vision of becoming a globally competitive institution. Dr. Manuel emphasized that through collaborative efforts, the university is well-positioned for future progress and encouraged attendees to maintain their dedication and support for the university’s programs and initiatives aimed at sustainable development.

The highlight of the event was the review and finalization of the association’s Constitution and By-Laws, a crucial step toward establishing a more structured and responsive governance framework.

Participants were also updated on several personnel concerns, including uniform policies and other operational guidelines, reinforcing transparency and shared accountability within the institution.

The initiative was spearheaded by NTA Bacnotan Chapter President Dr. Valoree B. Salamanca in conjunction with other NTA Officers. The celebration underscores the university’s continued commitment to recognizing and empowering its non-teaching and job-order employees, whose dedication is indispensable to the institution’s mission and overall success.
