Guidance Counselors from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) participated in the 60th Annual National Conference and 2025 International Conference of the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, Inc. (PGCA), held at The Manila Hotel and St. Scholastica’s College Manila from May 21 to 23, 2025.

Carrying the theme “PGCA Legacy: Stories to Conquer New Glories,” the three-day event marked six decades of PGCA’s invaluable contributions to the guidance and counseling profession. The conference was designed not only to honor the association’s rich history and achievements but also to spark reflection, inspire innovation, and promote professional excellence.

The event gathered guidance counselors, psychologists, psychometricians, and helping professionals from across the country and abroad. DMMMSU delegates, namely, Imelda Coloma, Angie S. Domondon, and Cristina Rapanut (South La Union Campus), Vida Joyce Mangaoang, Alicia Cadwising, Alice Land, and Eunice Palomo (Mid-La Union Campus), Sherlyn Nitura (North La Union Campus), and Claudia Denise P. Barbadillo (Open University System), engaged in plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions that explored cutting-edge practices, emerging trends, and inspiring stories in the field of guidance and counseling.
Beyond the learning sessions, the conference emphasized the importance of embracing new approaches and best practices to meet the evolving needs of individuals and communities, ensuring that the legacy of PGCA continues to thrive in the years to come. (By Claudia Denise P. Barbadillo)
