DMMMSU, through the Director for International Affairs, Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata, showcased its initiatives to promote international student and faculty exchange at the International Educators Congress 2025 in North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU), Surigao del Sur, on May 21-22, 2025.
Dr. Jarata delivered a plenary lecture that spotlighted DMMMSU’s strategic approaches to internationalization, focusing on student and faculty mobility, global partnerships, and its institutional commitment to sustainable academic exchange.
Dr. Jarata discussed DMMMSU’s efforts in developing flexible mobility programs that include short-term, hybrid, and virtual learning opportunities. He recounted success stories of DMMMSU student-teachers who thrived in international classrooms, emphasizing the importance of making global exposure accessible to all students.
“Not every student has the same background: some live far from cities, others care for family, and many are unsure about leaving home. So, our answer is flexibility – we open doors to short-term, low-cost, and even virtual exchanges. No student with a dream of the world should be left behind,” Dr. Jarata emphasized.
The two-day international academic event, themed “Synergy Beyond Borders: Harnessing International Research Leadership to Shape Glocally Competent Educators,” was co-hosted by universities in Indonesia, Canada, and India, along with Philippine Higher Education Institutions.
