To bolster its international research visibility and scholarly output, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) conducted a two-day Intensive Scopus Publication Training at the International Convention Center, North La Union Campus on June 2–3, 2025.
Organized by the University Research, Development, and Innovation (URDI) Office, the training bore the theme “Strategizing 1000 Scopus Publications for a Globally Ranked DMMMSU.” The training convened university officials, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel to strengthen the institution’s capacity for producing high-impact research published in Scopus-indexed journals.
Dr. Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III, Top 1 Scopus producer in the Philippines, global health scholar, and founder of Global Health Focus (GHF). His sessions offered in-depth insights into the evolving landscape of academic publishing, strategies for enhancing global university rankings, and the formulation of a competitive international research agenda.
Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions covering key aspects of scientific writing and publication. Topics included identifying credible Scopus-indexed journals, maximizing the use of generative AI tools in manuscript development, and tracking research performance using platforms such as Google Scholar, AD Index, Scopus, and Clarivate Analytics.
The second day was focused on interactive discussions that delved deeper into journal selection, manuscript structuring, article types, and citation analysis, all aimed at equipping DMMMSU researchers with practical tools for academic publishing success.
The participants were required to submit papers for publication as their license to receive a certificate of completion. (By Aniway P. Millares)
