Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) College of Graduate Studies, through Project ADAREN, conducted a financial literacy seminar titled “Community Power Up: Empowering Lives Through Financial Know-How” at Capas, Agoo, La Union on June 7, 2025. Fifty-eight local farmers were equipped with essential knowledge on personal finance and strategic money management tailored to the agricultural setting.

Dr. Janice Rhea P. Mr. Freddie Q. Aloot, Regional Manager of ASA Philippines, Inc., followed with a compelling presentation on “Mastering the Art of Money Moves.” He discussed the role of microfinance and microlending in empowering rural livelihoods, providing guidance on responsible borrowing, effective budgeting, and optimizing access to financial services for long-term stability.

Graduate students from the Master in Development Administration program organized and facilitated the seminar, ensuring an engaging and learner-friendly experience for all participants.
