Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) has emerged as the top-ranking university in Region 1 for six Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025.

DMMMSU ranked highest in the region in the following SDGs:

  • SDG 1: No Poverty (Top 4 in the Philippines)
  • SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation (Top 6 in the Philippines)
  • SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities (Top 4 in the Philippines)
  • SDG 13: Climate Action (Top 4 in the Philippines)
  • SDG 14: Life Below Water (Top 3 in the Philippines)
  • SDG 15: Life on Land (Top 2 in the Philippines)

Also, DMMMSU ranked second in the region in the following SDGs:

  • SDG 2: Zero Hunger
  • SDG 4 Quality Education
  • SDG 5 Gender Quality
  • SDG 7 Affordable & Clean Energy (Top 9 in the Philippines)
  • SDG 9 Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure

These results reflect the university’s sustained efforts to integrate the SDGs into its academic, research, and extension programs. Through community-based initiatives, environmental conservation projects, and inclusive policies, DMMMSU continues to set benchmarks in regional and national sustainability performance.

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings evaluate institutions worldwide based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis on real-world impact, policy implementation, and community engagement.
