Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) Central Administration (CA) welcomed officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central and Regional Offices for a courtesy visit with University President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel Jr. on June 19, 2025, ahead of their scheduled inspections of ongoing CHED-Higher Education Development Fund (HEDF) projects.
The CHED delegation was composed of officials from the Higher Education Fund Staff (HEDFS) of the Central Office; Michael Joshua Maniquis, Carolyne Patayan, and Angel Mae Casava, along with Engr. Leonora Quarte, Education Supervisor II from CHED Regional Office I.
As part of their fieldwork, the officials are set to inspect four CHED-HEDF funded projects implemented across DMMMSU’s campuses:
- Hybrid Library of DMMMSU (HyLiD) – North La Union Campus
- Modernization of BS Hospitality Management and Laboratory – Mid La Union Campus
- International Mobility in the New Normal: Modernizing the iLab as an Innovation Laboratory for Global Education and Digital Citizenship – South La Union Campus (SLUC)
- Modernization of Equipment for BS in Nursing and Diploma/Bachelor of Science in Midwifery Clinical Skills Development Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic – SLUC
Following the courtesy call, the team conducted on-site validations to ensure compliance with project objectives, transparency in implementation, and effective utilization of HEDF resources. Their visit marks a continuing collaboration between CHED and DMMMSU in ensuring the efficient implementation of infrastructure and academic development initiatives across the university system.
