Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) highlighted its engagement with global education and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) as it welcomed delegates from the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) for a benchmarking visit on June 27, 2025.
As part of its efforts to broaden global engagement strategies, UNP organized the visit to learn from DMMMSU’s approaches to implementing internationally oriented programs. Dr. Sally A. Jarin, Director of UNP’s International Affairs and External Linkages Office, and Dr. Winnie Caliboso, Student Mobility Coordinator, led the delegation.
DMMMSU Vice President for Academic and International Affairs Dr. Vicky A. Agpasa formally received the team. Dr. Jesus Rafael B. Jarata presented DMMMSU’s Strategic Internationalization Plan (SIP) and COIL initiatives such as virtual exchange classes, joint lectures, and international webinars, as well as DMMMSU’s collaboration with partner institutions in Southeast Asia. He emphasized how COIL strengthens intercultural competencies and provides global learning opportunities, especially for State Universities with limited physical mobility options. (By Rowena T.
