Numerous COPC’s were also secured by various programs in 2020. These, however, does not imply that it is only in 2020 and 2021 that programs are given COPC’s. These programs had been awarded COPC’s in previous years yet these programs are mandated to undergo monitoring by CHED following the latest CMO’s; hence, these recent COPC’s.

The Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) is a recognition that the specific degree programs being offered by SUCs/LUCs are fully compliant with the policies, standards, and guidelines of CHED.

Also, CHED Preliminary Assessment (CPA) ascertains the readiness and capability of the SUCs/LUCs to operate a new program in terms of:

  • Availability of qualified program head and faculty members,
  • Presence of adequate library resources,
  • Presence of adequate laboratory facilities/equipment
  • Whether the program/s to be offered is within their mandate

What’s more, pursuant to Section 10 of Republic Act No. 10931 otherwise known as “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act”, Quality Standards for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) Budgets, Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) and Student Loans Programs, CHED and TESDA ensure quality standards in the review and consequent endorsement of the budget of the SUCs and LUCs and state-run Technical-Vocations Institutions (TVIs), respectively.
