DMMMSU headed by President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., and North Luzon Philippines State College (NLPSC) represented by OIC President Dr. Gilbert R. Arce inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) at DMMMSU Central Administration Conference Hall on August 1, 2022.
In the agreement, DMMMSU through the National Apiculture Research, Training, and Development Institute (NARTDI) will conduct training on honey product development particularly on honey wine, vinegar, and soap making for the project team of NLPSC.
In her welcome remarks, Dr. Angelita T. Gonzales, DMMMSU OIC Vice President for Research and Extension, underscored the importance of establishing academic collaboration geared toward improving the quality of life in the community.
Meanwhile, Dr. Arce expressed his excitement as NLPSC and DMMMSU sealed their partnership for the community extension program.
“This MOA outlines our commitment to enhancing the lives of the community…we look forward to more partnership and collaboration as we embark on our journey to universityhood,” Dr. Arce said.
President Manuel affirmed that the University is always ready to help and assist NLPSC and ISPSC (soon to constitute the University of Ilocos Philippines) in whatever capacity it has.
The MOA signing was witnessed by NARTDI Executive Director, Dr. Gregory B. Viste; NLPSC Director for Extension Dr. John Paul R. Alasaas. The project shall continue even in the event of a change of personality of NLPSC UIP. (Lester E. Orpilla)
