Four faculty members from the College of Computer Science completed their respective degrees through the CHED K-12 Scholarship Program. Dr. Enrique G. Abad, Dr. Richard M. Marzan, and Dr. Jerome P. Songcuan received their Doctor of Information Technology degrees from the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) while Dr. Joe Anthony M. Milan received his Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU).

They successfully defended their respective dissertations — Enhanced Key Generation of Hansing Message Authentication Code Algorithm by Dr. Enrique G. Abad, An Enhanced Key Security of the Playfair Cipher Algorithm by Dr. Richard M. Marzan, Data Augmentation using Generative Adversarial Network to Improve Classification of Handwritten Words by Dr. Joe Anthony M. Milan, and Jumbled Passsteps: A Hotspot Guessing Attack Resistant Graphical Password Authentication Scheme Based on the Modified Passmatrix Method by Dr.  Jerome P. Songcuan.

Dr. Songcuan was awarded with High Honors while Dr. Marzan was awarded with Distinction by TIP as a commendation for their academic standing during their doctorate program. Meanwhile, Dr. Milan received a prize for his research presentation during the just concluded AdMU University Scholarly award (2022). (By Belinda Dungan)
