Mr. Genesis C. Omo, a faculty member from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – North La Union Campus (DMMMSU-NLUC), spearheaded the development and presentation of the “SentraWarga App” during the Community and Technological (CommTECH) Camp 2025, hosted by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia, from February 20 to March 3, 2025.

Revolving around the theme “Technology Innovations,” Mr. Omo took on a leadership role, guiding his team in the development and presentation of the “SentraWarga App: An App for E-governance and Reporting with Public Advisory.” This innovative app concept garnered significant attention and received commendations from a panel of experts in Technology and Engineering.

Mr. Omo, of the College of Information Systems, was among the 34 participants in the program’s second stream in 2025, alongside faculty members and students from universities of Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Russia, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Cambodia, and the Philippines. The participants represented diverse fields, including Information Systems, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Business Management, fostering a rich interdisciplinary environment.

The program featured lectures and workshops focused on rapidly evolving technologies such as Microcontrollers, IoT (Internet of Things), and Artificial Intelligence (AI), equipping participants with knowledge and skills for the future. Beyond the technical aspects, the program also offered invaluable exposure to the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia like experiencing their traditional martial arts, traditional dance, and traditional instruments, and visiting the Bromo Mountain and the Battle of Surabaya Museum.
