Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) has submitted a total of 65 priority programs and projects worth Php 4.48 billion for fiscal year 2026 to the Department of Budget and Management Regional Office I (DBMRO1), following endorsement by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office I (CHEDRO1).

The proposals, which include both Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects, were developed during a two-day planning workshop held on February 27–28, 2025, at the Fisheries Research and Training Institute (FRTI) in Balaoan, La Union. The workshop aimed to identify initiatives aligned with the university’s institutional goals and national higher education priorities.

To finalize the submission, a write shop was conducted on April 24–25, 2025, at the Mid La Union Campus Audio-Visual Room in San Fernando City. The session was attended by university planners, campus officials, engineers, and finance personnel from DMMMSU’s three campuses and research institutes.

The consolidated proposals consist of 37 infrastructure projects—including academic and administrative buildings, research laboratories, dormitories, and campus road and utility improvements—and 28 modernization projects focused on acquiring advanced machinery, equipment, and technology for instruction, research, and service delivery.

The proposed initiatives are anchored in the university’s Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) and support several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including quality education (SDG 4), sustainable infrastructure (SDG 9), clean energy (SDG 7), and sustainable campus development (SDG 11).

The submission will now undergo evaluation by DBMRO1 as part of the national budget preparation process for fiscal year 2026. (By Marissa R. Fangon)
