Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) affirmed its commitment to safety and disaster resilience by actively participating in the 2025 Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on June 19, 2025.

The drill was participated in by students, faculty members, nonteaching personnel, and administrators across the University in a coordinated exercise aimed at enhancing awareness and readiness during major earthquakes. At the sound of the alarm, participants calmly performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure, followed by guided evacuation and headcount in designated safe zones.

Emergency Response Teams were deployed to oversee the simulation, assess response efficiency, and ensure the smooth flow of activity. Incident commanders and focal persons led the coordination efforts.

The activity, led by DMMMSU DRRM Unit and conducted in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense Region 1 (OCD 1) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), served as a timely reminder of the university’s role in promoting a culture of preparedness and proactive risk reduction and shared responsibility in times of crisis.
