Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) Mid La Union Campus (MLUC) is taking decisive action to raise the standards of professionalism and ethics among its teaching staff. On June 30, 2025, the Campus through the initiative of the Instruction and Human Resource Offices headed by Dr. Joan V. Rivera and Ms Kizzy Lyn M. Orque, respectively, rolled out a comprehensive training program, “Professionalism and Ethical Practice in Tertiary Teaching: A Training Program for Contractual Faculty,” at the College of Arts and Sciences Audio-Visual Room.

This pioneering initiative directly addresses the crucial role faculty members play in shaping the academic journey of students and upholding the University’s reputation for excellence. Recognizing the challenges posed by varying levels of orientation, inconsistent understanding of institutional expectations, and issues such as grading fairness and confidentiality, the University designed this program to protect academic integrity and proactively prevent student complaints and protect academic integrity.

The training is meticulously structured to clarify ethical and professional expectations, standardize assessment practices, and enhance faculty accountability. Through a dynamic blend of guided discussions, case analyses, and interactive sessions, contractual faculty members are empowered to fully embrace their responsibilities and contribute to a culture of integrity and trust within the institution.

The program includes five intensive sessions with Atty. Allan Hil B. Pajimola, Head of Legal Services, serving as the speaker. (By Arrianne Michelle F. Fabro)
