Dr. Ernesto C. Collo, Jr., Program Chair of the Bachelor of Arts in Communication program, and faculty member John Emil A. Raguindin of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University – South La Union Campus (DMMMSU-SLUC) joined the “FDCP x PACE: Training the Teachers” workshop at Mapúa University Makati on July 4-5, 2025.
Organized by the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the two-day workshop aimed to strengthen filmmaking skills and film appreciation among communication educators.
On the first day, participants engaged in plenary discussions on the current state of Philippine film education and took crash courses on story and screenplay writing, script development, film production, and producing. The second day offered practical workshops focused on cinematography, film editing, documentary filmmaking, and Pinoy animation, concluding with a film appreciation session on world cinema.
The training led by PACE, in collaboration with the Academic Film Society and Mapúa University, supports media educators across the Philippines and contributes to the growth and development of Filipino cinema.
