Donned with white T-shirt bearing the name of the University, DMMMSU employees led by President Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., assembled for the Flag Raising Ceremony at 15 minutes to 7 this morning, November 16, 2020.

President Manuel gleefully calls on employees to recite PVMGO.

Since the time the University has resumed the conduct of Flag Ceremonies, it has included some additions to the usual parts –Prayer, singing of the National Anthem (Pambansang Awit ng Pilipinas), Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine Flag (Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas), and singing of the University Hymn.

For weeks now, employees are encouraged to internalize the University Philosophy, Vision, Mission, and Goal, as well as Policy Statements and Policy Objectives; hence, they are asked to recite them in chorus. Also, President Manuel would call in random employees to individually recite, making each of them feeling “awake, alert, alive, enthusiastic” during Ceremonies as they ready themselves while they wait for their turn to be called to recite (or pray not to be called to recite before other employees). Knowing the challenge of reciting from memory, all would also cheer for each person called to recite on stage. This morning, one was also called to sing the University Hymn.

Set in a luscious green background, bright blue sky and cottony clouds, the assembly place in front of the Central Administration Building at Bacnotan, La Union echoed the employees’ prayer for God’s omnipresence, leading, and blessing as this week, DMMMSU will undergo ISO Stage 2 Certification Audit.

Flag Ceremonies are conducted following health and safety protocols. (Ayu)
