




True to its mission to provide high quality instruction, research and extension, the SLUC Research & Extension Unit launched on February 2, 2021, a 4-day capability enhancement training on research proposal packaging and designing of extensions programs. Spearheaded by Research Head Prof. Victorial N. Malaya hand-in-hand with Extension Head Prof. Zenaida B.Advincula, the duo warmly welcomed the research plantilla holders and the research and extension facilitators to the said event. During the morning session, the activity focused on the reiteration of the University research and extension thrusts and agenda specifically on their definition, design and implementation as well as the integration of gender issues to the extension programs. Dr. Keneth G. Bayani, DMMMSU’s research director, reinvigorated the afternoon lull with his enthusiastic discussion on the use of Turnitin, Scopus, and Science Direct. This was followed by a number-crunching session on Statistical Analysis using IBM SPSS with SLUC’s Internal Auditor Dr. Isidro L. Duran. The second and third day of the training showcased the writeshop proper and consultation. The fifth day was devoted to presentation and evaluation of the research outputs. (ZM)
