DMMMSU’s poster on Communities Understand and Respect (CURe) the Sea won the 2^nd place in the Poster Development Category during the 32^nd Ilocos Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (ILAARRDEC) Regional Symposium on R&D Highlights via Zoom on March 16-17, 2021.

The paper authored by Dr. Jaime I. Manuel, Jr., Hon. Mary Jane C. Ortega, and Dr. Junifer Rey E. Tabafunda was presented by Mr. Richard N. Rivera through a poster.

During the symposium, DMMMSU personnel from different units presented the following papers in the different categories:

Under the Oral Research Category:

• “Improving Silk Yarn and Silk Fabric using Various Edible Oils as Pre-treatment Agents” authored by Ms. Gizaldy G. Gaudia from SRDI; and

• “Propagation of Ginger Plant in Various Media” by Dr. Genaro D. Omo from DMMMSU-NLUC.

In the symposium, plaques of recognition were also awarded to the following winners during the 31^st ILAARRDEC Regional Symposium on R&D Highlights.

A total of 12 papers (7 research category; 5 development category) and 11 posters (8 research category; 3 development category) from the different member agencies in the region were presented.
