DMMMSU Open University System (DOUS) conducted a two-day Training on Records Management at the DOUS Multi-Purpose Hall on March 6-7, 2025. The training, organized through its Continuing Professional Education and Development Program (CPED) under the leadership of Training Chief Dr. Romeo C. Opeña Jr., aimed to enhance records handling, digitization, and risk management skills among professionals from various government agencies.

The training covered key topics, including workplace organization, e-governance, and digital archiving, in alignment with the National Archives of the Philippines Act. Key resource speakers included DMMMSU Record Officer Mr. Arturo C. Flores, who discussed administrative procedures and recordkeeping strategies, and Dr. Lher Verell S. Palabay, Director of Alumni Affairs Services, who led sessions on digital archiving and e-governance tools.

DOUS Executive Director Dr. Bernardo D. Lamadrid underscored the significance of efficient records management in fostering transparency and institutional accountability. The training brought together representatives from key agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government RO1, Department of Public Work and Highways RO1, Department of Education La Union, and various provincial and local government offices.

The event concluded with an awarding ceremony, where participants received certificates of completion. Through this initiative, DMMMSU OUS reaffirmed its commitment to advancing efficiency and excellence in modern records management. (By Romeo S. Opeña, Jr.)
